An innate interest in art and history inspired Steffan to pursue a career combining the two. Enrolling onto a course to study banker masonry at Bath College, extra-curricular courses were offered in both 3d and relief carving. Steffan realised that carving in stone was the path he wanted to follow.
Having developed his skills as a banker mason, a QEST Scholarship enabled Steffan to complete a BA in stone carving at City & Guilds of London Art School, where he graduated with First Class Honours. This together with previous experience gained in heritage skills allows Steffan to contribute a sympathetic skill set to stonework in the secular and ecclesiastical sectors. Steffan has also completed the Traditional Building Skills Programme with The Prince’s Foundation and QEST.
Based in Swansea, Steffan intends to continue developing his craft in both a public and private capacity. His passion for his craft is evident in the meticulous attention to detail he puts into every project and commission he undertakes.
